A Year of Celebrations!
Nevada Day Parade
Held: Oct. 30, 2021
TMCC was represented in the Nevada Day parade to help celebrate our first 50 years. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible, including President Hilgersom, Professor Wyatt Ziebell and the TMCC Automotive program, Marketing and Communications staff, Student Government Association, Truckee Meadows Veterans Club, and the Recruitment and Access Center (with Mighty the Lizard)!
Sports and Fitness Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Held: Aug. 27, 2021
With the ribbon cutting ceremony, the TMCC Sports and Fitness Center honored our first Athletics Director, Joe Ayarbe, as well as former President Maria C. Sheehan, for their commitment to athletics and health among the TMCC community. The 8,000 square foot gymnasium was dedicated as “Joe’s Gym” in honor of Ayarbe’s legacy, and the 3,000 square foot Strength and Conditioning Room was re-named in honor of former President Sheehan, who championed health and wellness at TMCC. Emeritus faculty members, family and friends of the Ayarbe family, student-athletes, and employees gathered to celebrate the new facility by looking back at our history and forward to the future with a continued focus on student well-being in mind, body and environment.
